Bennie Smith Funeral Home of Wilmington, DE awarded 5 New Castle County High School Seniors each with a $1000 scholarship recently.  At the start of the 2021 school year, incoming seniors could apply for the scholarships; in total, 5 – $1000 scholarships were awarded as part of Bennie Smith Funeral Home’s commitment to higher education.

Winners of this year’s BSFH New Castle County High School Senior scholarships are and shown:  Snye Dillard at Howard HS of Technology, Imani Wuff-Cochrane of St George Technical HS, Ryleigh Wilson of Delcastle Technical HS, Emma Norton at Brandywine High School, and Adriana Gonzalez of St. Elizabeth School.

Bennie Smith Funeral Home started their High School Scholarship program in 2019 for New Castle County Seniors and is open for registration in August of each year.  Students are asked only to provide their names/their current High School attending/and future ambitions.  “With over 40 submissions this year, so many students could have won; these 5 ladies were simply outstanding though” said Bennie Smith (President & CEO) “they have bright futures ahead of them & we’re happy to provide a little assistance as they start their journey next year”.
