July is a time of celebration in Maryland…  from fireworks and family reunions to parades and church gatherings. It’s also a time to recognize the strength and resilience woven into our communities.

At Bennie Smith Funeral Home of Maryland, we’re more than a provider of services… we’re your neighbors. We’ve walked beside generations of families through both joyful milestones and sorrowful farewells. Our commitment runs deep, rooted in tradition but always growing with the changing needs of those we serve.

This summer, we invite you to learn more about the ways we support families through dignified funeral services, compassionate care, and guidance that brings clarity during life’s hardest moments. Whether you’re coping with a recent loss or simply exploring what it means to plan ahead, we’re here with answers, comfort, and experience you can trust.

Bennie Smith Funeral Home has proudly served Maryland for over 40 years… and we remain as committed as ever to walking with you, every step of the way.

Bennie Smith Funeral Home

From humble beginnings on a farm in Faceville, Georgia, Bennie Smith became a respected businessman whose standards of compassion and excellence continue to guide our work today. Bennie Smith Funeral Home of Maryland is part of one of the largest African American–owned funeral service organizations on the East Coast. In Maryland, we serve families from multiple chapels across the Eastern Shore — including Salisbury, Easton, Princess Anne, and Chestertown — with dignified funerals, cremations, memorials, and preplanning. Since 1982, we have cared for generations of Maryland families with clarity, respect, and faith. More than 40 years later, our mission remains the same. We are here to honor every life well lived and to walk beside you, every step of the way.
